HOT DOCS 2021 | Discussion with Steve J Adams and Sean Horlor, Co-Directors of "Someone Like Me"

It's sad to hear about parts of the world where people are judged, attacked, imprisoned, and even killed for their identity. But there are groups of people trying to help resettle LGBTQ+ people in Canada to build a life for themselves without fearing for their lives. In their documentary SOMEONE LIKE ME, co-directors Steve J Adams and Sean Horlor follow one group in Vancouver, BC with this mission, and while the group's intentions are good, unforseeable circumstances causes unexpected turns in how this story unfolds.

SOMEONE LIKE ME had its world premiere at Hot Docs 2021, and Thomas Stoneham-Judge had the chance ahead of the festival to talk with Steve and Sean about the challenges in making this documentary, and what they learned in the process.
