In this episode, I pair my review of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” with Starward Nova whisky, a strong, bold Australian whisky that’s out of this world.

In the twilight of World War II, a lone prospector played by Jorma Tommila strikes it rich when he finds a substantial amount of gold in North Finland. His task now is to simply deposit his bounty at a bank in the nearest town. On his trek there, however, the man encounters a retreating brigade of Nazi soldiers led by an odious SS Obersturmführer, played by Aksel Hennie, who has set his sights on claiming the gold at all costs. What they soon learn, however, is that this man is no ordinary miner, but rather a legendary one-man army who embodies the Finnish concept of “sisu” — a white-knuckled form of courage and unimaginable determination in the face of overwhelming odds.

  • In this episode, Thomas reviews the film Missing. Co-written and directed by Nick Johnson and Will Merrick, and starring Storm Reid and Nia Long, Missing is the sequel to the 2018 screenlife film Searching. Following a whole new story, Missing continues the screenlife storytelling style as a drama/thriller film.

Directed by Chad Stahelski, co-written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch, and starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Bill Skarsgård, Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, and Rina Sawayama, John Wick Chapter 4 is the high octane action sequel fans of the franchise have been waiting for.
