ForReel Box Office Summary: Crazy, Rich Asians continues to outpace projections - Maintains Box Office Lead

Crazy, Rich Asians continues to impress. A week after suffering a mere 6% drop week to week the Asian led film fell just 11% over the 3 day start to Labor Day Weekend. The predictions of summer box office falling to earth with a thud this weekend seem far off now. While newer releases like Kin flopped - The Meg who also had a strong August continued to impress as well falling just 17% with Mission Impossible: Fallout also estimated a drop of under 15%. Searching - found itself sneaking into the top 5 after expanding their release significantly for this weekend.

Here's how the top 5 is estimated to finish

1. Crazy, Rich Asians | $22.2 million | $110.9 million

2. The Meg | $10.5 million | $120.5 million

3. Mission Impossible: Fallout | $7 million | $204.4 million

4. Operation Finale  |  $6 millon

5. Searching | $5.7 million

Looking forward to next weekend we have two wide releases the horror film, The Nun, as part of The Conjuring Universe and Peppermint starring Jennifer Garner, a mother who loses her family to cartel members and goes for revenge.
