"Daddy's Home 2" Movie Review
As a real life "Co-Dad" as the film puts it myself I found the films premise intriguing. The premise is very simple: more daddies = more problems. There's your typical Will Ferrell style humor and Mel Gibson played his role well. However, I'm not sure why we needed John Cena at all. The camera work, writing, and premise were all pretty bland but the stars carried the film. (except for Cena - again why did we need him?)
Let's be clear: there's nothing truly special about Daddy's Home 2 critically speaking. It won't win any awards or lead the box office but it will get what I think it was aiming for - to be a fun family oriented comedy. And judging by the laughter I experienced I think it hit the mark.
